Everyone deserves to have a little fun at some point in the week. You’ve worked to the bones. All you want to do is loosen up a bit, but you want to do this responsibly. There are a few things you can do to make sure you get home safely without drinking and driving.

Buddy System

A good solution for this problem is to have fun with a friend who does not drink. This person is going to be responsible for helping everyone get home without anyone driving while intoxicated. Granted, this is a bit of a task for this friend of yours, so make sure that you show some appreciation. Perhaps you can pay for his or her appetizers or non-alcoholic drinks while you are out and about. You could also put some gas in the friend’s car at the end of the day.

Walking Distance

Okay, so you probably know the bars that you like to go to, but it may be time to switch it up a bit. Consider visiting bars or lounges that are closer to home so that you can walk home. Of course, you do have to keep in mind that you are going to be walking home, so do not drink so much that your coordination will be off. You do not want to fall as you walk home, which could lead to some serious injuries. It may not be ideal to exercise restraint, but it is wise if you are going to be walking home.

Yellow Wheels

Those who would rather not exercise restraint or simply hate the bars that are near your home can still go out and have fun as long as you schedule a pick-up with a trustworthy taxi cab Lakewood CO. A good cab driver is not only going to pick you up but will ensure that you get inside your house before he or she leaves for your own safety. This should make you feel a little safer, even if you drank too much because the taxi driver should call for help if you happen to fall before you get into your house.

Sleep Over

Perhaps you looked for bars or dives near you but found none that you liked, but your friend found a good one near his or her house. At this point, you can just schedule a sleep over at your friend’s house, so you can sleep off the drinks safely. It is important to remember that you are going to be far from your home in the morning. You can ask your friend to drop you off, but you can also just drop off your vehicle the night before or call a taxi to pick you up.

Hopefully, some of these suggestions help keep you safe during your night out. Most of these tips are meant to keep you safe and prevent you from being tempted to drive under the influence. Not only are you risking getting a ticket, but you could also be putting yourself and others in danger, so consider these ideas, or just stay home when drinking.
